Paule Aboite
Paule Aboite is a Haitian-American soprano based in Berlin, praised as “a standout for her characterful timbre and clarity.” She appears regularly in operatic, concert, and interdisciplinary performance settings, bringing a strong commitment to storytelling and collaboration across genres.
Most recently, she performed in concert with Classic Meets Fetish, opening the annual Folsom Europe Fetish Week, and has curated an immersive visual/ musical experience in collaboration with Tipsy Bear, a prominent establishment within Berlin’s LGBTQ community.
Her operatic roles include Ortlinde (Die Walküre), Contessa Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Strawberry Woman/ Annie (Porgy & Bess). With a degree in vocal performance from Hunter College in New York City, Ms. Aboite has also been featured in new and collaborative opera works with Hunter Opera Theatre and American Opera Projects, including Henry Mollicone’s LadyBird: First Lady of the Land; the world premiere of Marshawn; and Paula Kemper’s Patience & Sarah, presented in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and New York City’s LGBTQ Pride in 2019.
Ms. Aboite has also appeared with Des Moines Metro Opera, The Mile Long Opera, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, National Music Festival (Maryland), Society Hill Playhouse (Philadelphia), and Central Presbyterian Church (New York City). Prior to her work as a singer, Paule received her degree in theatre from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has had an active career in theatre in New York City.
In 2018, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Marie in The Hunting Season with Planet Connections Theatre Festivity— a summer theatre festival focused on showcasing new works while inspiring community outreach and social change.
Other theatrical credits include Show Boat (Goodspeed Musicals), Bright Lights, Tent City (National Black Theatre), Boat People (Classical Theatre of Harlem), Talking Peace (Fountain Theatre), Roost (Interact Theatre), and Bare: A Pop Opera (Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Festival).
When not performing on stage you can find Paule teaching theatre workshops to high school students around Germany and Austria. She is also a student mentor at Berlin Brandenburg International School.
